Tip from a Scouter

August 26, 2011

Let’s talk about leader succession. We received a tip from one of our Scouters for the blog. Please weigh in with your thoughts and related tips.

I think once a person’s sons/boys are through the Boy Scout program they should step aside and let the “newbies” take over and know that things will not be the “same” way.  Certainly, they can still participate but step aside when it comes to leadership positions.

-Kim R. from Albion, NE

What other advice can we give to each other about leadership? What qualities make a great leader in the Boy Scouts? What resources do you turn to when you are in a bind? How can we help each other provide the best possible program for our Scouts?

Please post your thoughts in the comments. Thanks!
