Camp Cedars Shower & Storm Shelter Ground Breaking

May 22, 2014

Shower Toilet FacilityA groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 6:15 p.m. on June 11, 2014 at Camp Cedars, which coincides with the sixth anniversary of the Little Sioux Scout Ranch tornado. We hope you will be able to join us for the ceremony and experience summer camp while it is in session.

Construction will begin in August after summer camp has concluded. When construction is finished, we will have FEMA approved storm shelter space for all campers and guests at Camp Cedars. We will also meet a high demand for modern shower and toilet facilities (flush toilets!), which will align us to meet the BSA’s newly revised National Camp Accreditation program minimum requirements. Projected shelter costs: $3,149,000. Thank you to the following list of generous donors who help make our camp safer for all youth, leaders and families as we provide unparalleled experiences in the outdoors through the Scouting program.
