Meet Christine Salisbury, new Cedars Camp Director

Christine is our new Council Camping Director.  Christine graduated from Kansas State University in 2009 with a Masters of Architecture. She hails from the Heart of America Council in Kansas City, where she is a Venturing Silver Award recipient.   As a Venturer, she has participated in high adventure programs, and worked as Northern Tier staff for three seasons, and Philmont Scout Ranch staff for ten seasons.  She enjoys cycling, backpacking, dog sledding, and ultimate Frisbee.

Here’s the best summer job you’ve ever had, apply for camp staff today!  You must be at least 14 years-old before the beginning of camp to serve as a volunteer counselor in training.  You must

be 15 years-old and older before camp begins to receive a salary-based on experience.

Cedars Shower/Storm Shelter Groundbreaking 
Ceremony Recap & Progress  
A groundbreaking ceremony was held June 11, 2014 at Camp Cedars, which coincides with the sixth anniversary of the Little Sioux Scout Ranch tornado. Nearly 500 Scouts, Scouters and supporters joined us for the ceremony. Read more. See progress made!

NBZ Spring Regalia Workshop

Camp Cedars Dining Hall, Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Order of the Arrow caps 2015 National Conference registrations

The 2014 OA membership drive was so successful, 17,000 members have registered to attend the 2015 National Conference next summer.  2015 is the 100th anniversary for OA.  Unfortunately, there is only room for 15,000 forcing a registration cap that will limit 1 adult to 3 youth to meet capacity requirements.  Read more.

More than 6,000 Boy Scouts from four states take part in Jubilee

Excerpt from article posted Saturday, October 11, 2014 by Cody Winchester, World-Herald staff writer.  “Thousands of Boy Scouts descended on Mahoney State Park this weekend for Jubilee, a three-day festival of camping, games, learning and music.  The region’s biggest Scouting event happens once every four years.
