Welcome new LSSR Camp Director!
mike_evano

New Program Director for Mid-America Council, Mike Evano will be overseeing the year-round program functions at Little Sioux Scout Ranch and serving as the Camp Director for the Cub Scout Resident Camp.

Coming from the Northern Star Council in St. Paul, Minnesota, he is looking forward to discovering the outdoor Scouting opportunities in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. As an avid outdoorsman, he spends as much time as possible in wild locations. Whether it’s fishing and hunting with family and friends, or trips to Alaska, Indiana, and Illinois chasing salmon, trout, and whitetail, there is never an “off season” for Mike!

“Scouting is a very important part of my life, but so are family and friends, travels throughout the U.S. and abroad, outdoor endeavors, and art/performing,” notes Mike. “My passion for Scouting and my experience in developing and carrying out innovative activities will lend themselves well to this position, and I am eager to serve the youth and families in the Mid-America Council.” Got questions for Mike, or just want to welcome him? Contact Mike Evano at 402-431-9272 x219.

Registrations for 2014 Summer Camp at Camp Cedars are open, and weeks 1, 2, and 3 are nearly full. Your troop’s adult leaders can take advantage of the free vacation day, and they still get to spend it having quality time with family.

Get it while it’s hot! The 2014 Camp Cedars Leader’s Guide is now available. Download your copy today! A Program Guide with a more detailed schedule and merit badge offerings will be available in early March.

Provisional Campers

A provisional camper is a Scout who attends camp individually. Some Scouts cannot attend camp with their Troop (e.g., family schedule conflicts), and we don’t want Scouts to miss camp! Any Scout may attend Camp Cedars on an individual basis. Advanced registration is required. The Scout and his parents must agree to accept the assigned leader’s directions and follow the Scout Oath and Law at all times. For more information, contact the Durham Scout Center, Scouter Services at 402-431-9BSA (9272).
