Cub Resident Camp UPDATE

By “Sir” Mike Evano, Cub Resident Camp Director

Most packs know by now how fun Little Sioux Resident Camp will be…you’ve seen the videos, read the leaders guides, and maybe even had a visit from “Mike the Knight” at one of your pack meetings or roundtables.  But remember, Cub Resident Camp is fun WITH A PURPOSE!  That purpose is to teach valuable lessons to every attending Cub Scout, while providing an unparalleled experience in the outdoors.  Cub Resident Camp offers advancement opportunities for Cubs of all ages; even if they have earned all their Webelos Pins, and are ready for Boy Scouts, a Webelos should still plan on working toward their Cub Scout STEM Award, something made easy at resident camp.  Cubs will also experience an amazing three days in the outdoors; not many camps can boast the diversity of outdoor experiences offered at Little Sioux, from hills to valleys, to fields and lakes.  Finally, the fun and learning is focused on the youth, but available to adults, too; by providing a fully-staffed camp experience, you can have fun right along with your Cub Scouts!  Make sure to sign up your pack, den, or just YOUR Cub Scout for a resident camp experience today.  It’s not too late!  Go to www.GoCubCamping.org to sign up!

Cub Scout Day & Twilight Camps 2014

Each day camp or twilight camp takes place over five consecutive days.  Cub Scouts attend daily and build upon the experiences and skills they learned the day before!  It’s for Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts. Campers do not stay overnight. Register now – camps begin June 2, 2014!

Videos Help Promote Summer Day Camps

It’s time to start preparing for summer camp, and here are two new videos to help you spread the word about the life-changing experiences our camps offer to Cub Scouts. View the videos and read more.

Be a Campmaster – Come Camping With Us!
A campmaster is an adult who is engaged in Scouting with a particular experience level in Scouting and/or has skills and
expertise to share with others. A campaster  can choose a weekend at any of our facilities, and serve as manager of the camp when in use for weekend camping. The campmaster crew is generally responsible for weekend hospitality, unit programming, and maintenance support.  Read more.

Did you know you can reserve the pool?

Scout units and families may reserve space at all of our camp locations through a camp reservation system online.  For example, want to reserve the pool at Camp Cedars for your unit for a few hours or the entire day?  The camp reservation system provides a great way to view any and all of our properties and facilities and see when they are available. Scout leaders and district and council event volunteers may also reserve space online, from the comfort of their own home, for their event. This system will allow us to eliminate double-booking issues and be the best stewards of our camps that we can be. Check it out!

Cabela’s Day Camp rescheduled for August 9

Because of some scheduling challenges, we had to move our May 31 Cabela’s Day Camp event to August 9.   Find more information and register online!
